Georgi says: “Recently renovated this pretty town has beautifully preserved medieval fortifications”
Sibiu was once the most important of the Transylvanian Saxon towns, serving as capital and dominating cultural activity.
The town is enchanting, with cobble stoned squares and pedestrian malls, and the unique ‘eyelid’ rooftop windows looking over pastel-painted buildings.
Sibu also has one of the best preserved historical sites in the country. Many of its medieval fortifications having been kept in excellent condition, and its architecture makes it a great place to visit.
